Proposal from Meat:

if we can get everyone together before the season opens, not counting the Australia games maybe, the proposal is two rounds of anyone who has never been carded and never appeared in a major league game. if it slides to june after our regular draft, I propose we stipulate you still cannot draft anyone who has played in the majors.

1. MEAT - Yes
2. tcochran - No - I agree with Jay that early results in the current season are not always great predictors of success
3. JMP1 - No - I took Profar with the 1st pick. And his 2013 card is unlikely to make the 25 man roster.
4. Willmurr - Yes
5. Padrenurgle - Yes
6. jflatour99 - Yes
7. Catom -
8. Lumberco -
9. JamesZimmer - Yes
10. ggrover15 -
11. killermarc -
12. thechamp - no

OK, with 4 No votes and with Lumberco AWOL since the start of the year, it looks like the current prospect draft eligibility rule will stay in place.

I've heard no objections to starting the draft on May 1, so let's plan on that. JF has suggested that we begin with the prospect draft BEFORE the FA draft -- as a nod to the concerns of several of the managers -- and I'm okay with that.

So, unless there are serious objections, let"s...
- Post drops and promotions in April
- Start the prospect draft on May 1
- Start the FA draft after the prospect one

Also, we've already had to replace Lumberco in 4 other leagues and he has been out of touch since early January. If you know of a good replacement for him, please send me an email.

I just realized the player eligibility thing proposed by Meat... Not in favor of that. But I'M in favor of starting sooner so the prospects won't have the time to play a lot of games in MLB...

I hadn't considered september call ups, only guys that had opened the season as starters or high impact players. wouldn't have been against september call ups,, as long as they hadn't played in the current season we're drafting in. but it's all moot now, hopefully we can get everyone gatherted for drops in about eleven days, then prepare for may first draft. it still gives a little advantage to those picking higher for those who want someone who can contribute right away, or has already proven they can hit big league pitching or get major league outs. im ready whenever.

Rosters updated at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... web#gid=30

Having heard no objections to the timing shift, let's plan on...

- Drops posted in April
- Draft to begin on May 1
- Prospect draft to occur BEFORE the free agent draft

lumberco to confirm

This trade still need a confirmation. BTW, is lumberco still around ? I've sent him some trade offers during the season and had no sign of life.

This trade was never confirmed by lumberco, however it was implemented by the managers involved in the Strat game engine. Trade is approved.

This league has always identified the seasons and drafts by the card set in use.

Was this trade intended for the 2014 card set? Or for the 2013 card set and the related draft which will occur in 2014?

Matt Adams or Schierholtz available

PostThu Mar 27, 2014 4:28 pm

Looking to trade Schierholtz or Adams for a decent pick in this draft, or pitching.

Schierholtz is a good defender, and good platoon offense vs. righties.
Adams is younger, a better card, a bomber, and going to be playing 1b for the Cardinals this year.

I'm looking for a low 1st round or high 2nd round pick for Adams, doubt there will be better offense available at the end of the first round. I will consider any offer for Schierholtz.

I will also trade either or both for legit starting pitchers.
