Almost at the 1/2 way point for me, Choo is really stinking the place up vs. LHP. This is at Progressive, probably the best park in the set for him:

vs. L 98 25 6 2 0 6 3 23 .255 .284 .357
vs. R 175 52 17 0 11 25 26 40 .297 .436 .583

Normally he bats either 1st or 2nd vs. RHP and 7th vs LHP. So far, I'm not impressed. Another downside to Choo is that his 1st rated position is CF. If your CF ever goes down, HAL will always put him out there in CF. Better make sure your actual CF is not injury prone.

At least you have that. I have Choo on 2 teams:

Chase
Choo, Shin-Soo L CF 4(-3)e4 263 37 48 10 0 11 25 41 70 7 3 2 A 1-14 .183 .315 .346
vs. L 82 5 0 0 0 3 10 26 .061 .188 .061
vs. R 181 43 10 0 11 22 31 44 .238 .369 .475

Nationals
Choo, Shin-Soo L CF 4(-3)e4 261 39 59 12 1 5 20 45 72 4 1 0 A 1-14 .226 .369 .337
vs. L 87 9 2 0 0 2 6 30 .103 .196 .126
vs. R 174 50 10 1 5 18 39 42 .287 .443 .443

So you're much better off than me, be happy for what you have!

Wow, I guess I should count myself lucky! At least I'm getting a reasonable amount of doubles from him. His K/BB ratio vs. LHPs is worse than most pitchers on all our teams.

I think I had him 2nd on my draft card, but I don't see anyone getting their money's worth. I'm sure hoping we are the exceptions because it's a really good card.

Choo has been very disappointing for me so far 44 games in. He has a nice obp vs righties but that is all. Not worth the dollars invested in my opinion.

vs. L 67 13 2 1 0 7 9 18 .194 .308 .254
vs. R 129 29 5 1 6 13 25 27 .225 .390 .419

I like the idea (that many of you have mentioned) of batting Choo second. Choo has high OBP (even vs. LHP) and low double plays. I was wrong earlier when I wrote that, Choo is not worthy of a place high in the batting order, versus LHP. Like several have mentioned, he does have over 40 OB chances vs. LHP.

So far after 21 games for me Choo is not doing very well. And in another league at the halfway point I don't think his numbers are as good as I would have expected.

I'm continuing to let him leadoff against LHP with Desmond (A bunt rating) batting 2nd. My division opponent starters are 80% RHP so it's not a big issue for me. That's the reason I got him. Choo is a leading candidate for biggest 2013 set ripoff at $8.74M. I'm finding McCutcheon may be a poor value as well.

I'm using Choo on several teams.

Unless I have someone with better OBP vs. LH's, he's in the 2 hole. (39.6 OBP + 0 gBa's.)

He leads off on most teams vs. RH's. He hits in the 2 hole on one team, because he's been slumping and Scooter Gennett is on fire leading off...

I would be happy to put Choo at #1 or #2 vs. LHP. I do cringe at the lack of power on that side, but he also more than makes up for it vs. RHP, and you are likely to see more rightys.

Choo was horrible for me vs. LHP - .470 OPS - and ended up in the 9th slot.

I am changing my mind again, I would not bat Choo anywhere but 8th or 9th against LHP. Yes, he does have a good amount of OB chances, even against LHP but it is all walks and no power. I have gone to using him almost exclusively in the two hole versus RHP and he rides the pine most of the time versus LHP.
