24 team dh 150mil league. Drafting with be done by the owners 1 a day for 25 days followed by a non waiver free for all.

How the dract will work is thiz way...

Drafting will take place over a 12hr period each day in 2hr 4 team slots.

Once 24 owners join the draft will start the following day in the league chat section of this forum.

Starting 10am to 10pm est.

We will get a randomizer. Then this is how it will work

10 am to noon - first time slot - team 1 to 4.

Each team has the option to send me by private message their choice. Or post it to the forum. Obviously team one can stall if he chooses until then end of the time period so the last 15min of each time slot will be reserved for me to have the time to post the 4 picks. If everyone is nice they will choose and post in an appropriate manner so that others can post afterward.

If this doesnt occur it is up to each team to ssnd me their pick so i can post it for them. With team 2 and 3 and 4 in the time slot they must send me their alternate picks just in case the team before them chooses their pick before them. In other words team 2 would wait the 1hr45min for team one to choose, if the pick isnt posted then team 2 needs to send me their pick and one alternative just incase team one sent me their pick in the last 15min as well. Team 3 would need to send me their pick nd 2 alternatives and team 4 their pick and 3 alternatives. I will post those 4 picks and then the next 2 hr period begins.

Once 24 picks are made we stop til the next day and reverse the order. As you can see in this way team 4 would pick before team 3 2 and 1 and could give back to team 1 the wait team 1 gave them the previous round.

This should deter people from taking too long and forcing the sending of an email to me.

If an owner can be infront of the computer or smart phone during their time slot they can private message me their choice and alternates but the further away the draft is from their time slot the more alternative they must send me in order to be sure of getting a pick. If an owner wishes to send another owner their choices instead of me perhaps an owner who is closer to his slot that is fine as long as a private message is sent me to inform me of this proxy choice so that i know its legitimate.

Would anyone be interested in this style of draft to attempt to get 24 teams in a league which everyone gets to draft the players they want without having to be at the computer for 8+ hours all at the same time.

Wow 76 views and only one person interested so far? Is there really no interest in 24 team leagues where you can draft the way you wish? More patience is needed perhaps.

I would be interested if there was a low cap and a defined era. 150 million means every team is loaded and no real skill in building teams. I love your draft idea though. The draft is the most fun especially if you have a limited pool of players

Rj, main point is that you and everyone else has the freedom to choose who you want. Also it allows all the players to be available so the league isnt played with only 2nd level players. Third, it puts pitching and stolen bases in a better position to influence the results of games.

But mostly its a way to get another 300 guys who are great but rarely used in a 12 team league. Guys like willie randolf and jay buhner etc. And im thinking players and pitchers will reflect their stats a bit more like they did during that year of their career.

Also Rj i think you are completely wrong about skill. A lower cap takes less skill than a higher cap. At least in the fact that you must always be adjusting you strategy as the draft develops unlike in a low cap league. In fact in a low salary cap league a draft has little importance at all. Everyone can make a team they wish give or take a few players here or there. No one can pick the top tier guys so they are all available to choose from. You get a team that is very simular to other teams except the names are different.

If say the cap is 80mil with 12 teams i could make the exact team i want even if i dont draftcat all. Let the other 11 teams draft their 25 players and let me choose after and my team will easily compete. The reason for this is that there will me lots of players left to choose from and will be equal or better. I can do the strategy of taking 80mil take off 4.5 mil for my 9 back ups take 75.5 mil and divide it by 16 to cover my 7 pitchers and 9 hitters which is 4.72 mil. Go after to get players of this salary, when i cant find i just adjust upwards and downwards accordingly and never be stuck. If i cant find a good cf inwill choose a 7mil one and use a 230 ss who is a one and cost 1mil. If i cant find a good ace starter i choose a 7mil one and us a 240 hitting 2b who is a 1 or 2 and costs a million etc. I mix and match as i choose and never fear being out drafted by anyone. Because when a lower player isnt available i have flexibilty to go higher and then go lower for another guy. My lineup might suffer in the 7 8 9 positions but 1 to 6 will be better than my opponents. If i go for an ace a good 2nd starter than below avg 4th starter well i will be more likely to win with my first 2 starters than my opponents.

When you have no slary influence you better know how to draft and adjust on the fly. And once you choose a player he does t have an equal or better replacement. You can choose a higher and lower player as replacements because there is no higher replacements there.

I was in the first 24 team keeper league but eventually left it because the player pool was too small and a poor draft ruined you forever.

This is the first 24 team league that makes sense to me!
