We've all assumed how SOM set the games decision engine (super advance, ball girl vs bat boy, ball park effects, guarding the lines) -it would be nice to understand what is truly at play day-in and day-out.

So yea thanks Gumby I really like that because thats really where I am at. I just want to know how things work- it seems like it could be to my advantage to understand what is happening.

But then I look to Nev's answer- well it seems he has been here before. The Whiz of Odd thing yea I think thats getting closer to the answer.

I think its time for a scotch and ponder even further. Come to the think of it Einstein was baffled how relativity theory actually worked (most the time). Thats what must be happening here. They can't explain it to us- just like you can't really explain GOD.

Would GOD have allowed a 1 e21 SS Robin Yount, to make 3 errors in one game, and next series have 3 runners thrown out at home, 2 against -5 Willie Mays, or is it just HAL playing GOD? Oh and I lost both games as a sidebar. I hope GOD has better things to do or explain than this, plus better decision making would be a hope as well.

Back in the day, I was in a PBM league where the 1e4 Cal Ripken made 3 errors in one game. It was a series played face to face, so no hanky-panky was involved. Odds are a funny thing, especially when dice are involved.
