Fading On the Backstretch

My team has hit a funk as we head down the backstretch of the season. While it has not played great just slightly above .500 for the season on can sense this may not just be a bad stretch. Is there anything one might do to kick start the team...My league does seem to be open to some trades but no bites for any of my starters...there are a few stop gaps available in free agency......Just looking for ideas or should I just ride it out....I think we have reached a tipping point in the season.

You should consider (if you haven't already) trying a mystery card format league. It gives you a chance to improve your team after the season begins, and it appears as you're someone who doesn't like to sit pat.

In a single-season-year league, it's foolish to drop players and trades are difficult to make--although you've managed to pull some trades off I see!

I've never tried a mystery card league. So , you don't pay the 20% fee for dropping a player?

It's the 5%/10%/20%---1-41gms/42-81gms/82-141gms player-drop scenario. You really should try the mystery games, Steve; they're fun, they keep the GM aspect of the game important throughout the entire season, and they demand detective skills not required by the 20xx games.

You are in an extreme pitchers park and you have good starters paired an extremely deep bullpen. I would cut most of the bullpen for cheapo's and pick up some offense, gambling that you starters can carry you down the stretch. As has been stated here many times, no need for an overwhelming pen in a park like yours with good starters. I would roll the dice, take the hit for cutting the players and see if the starters can carry you down the stretch to maybe put a run together.
