Thought I'd have a good chance to lead the league in pitching with this staff and ballpark. Didn't expect to be near the top in runs scored. Scoring has been trending down so that might not hold

My team is about average when it comes GIDPs, but way low in the field. I expected to be better with Escobar, Kipnis and Votto (didn't expect much at 3B) in the field and both Iwakuma and Lee are good DP pitchers.

I'm fairly well-pleased with my team so far (except against my neighbor in the "other" Carolina). Hitting's not too hot, but my pitching has been better than expected. Obviously don't like being at 24-24, especially with having the dice on my side, but I'm an optimist at heart.

Nice playing against you guys.

Spider, nice having you aboard. :) Interesting to note about one runners, you're the on]y team that is more that +/- 3. That seems pretty rare. After our 6-2 (I think it was) start, we've gone 2-5 so we're only +1 now. Oops, I missed AT, he's -6!

Stoney, well, you only spent $41.2 mil on your lineup v RHP, one of the lowest in the league, and 32.3 on your pitchers. so, you wouldn't expect your team to stay up there near the top. Especially in PNC park.

Joe, just curious. Is the salary vs L & R part of your ratings? Seems like that's a poor way to look at things. BTW, I have $43.1M in salary vs R

Stoney,

Yeah, you are, of course, correct. I haven't fully reviewed my orginal ratings look at each team. 43.1 is the 8th highest (assuming I don't have any other problems). In this case I had Schafer playing instead of Lough.

The salary isn't part of the ratings. It's a rough measure of expectations for hitting/pitching. I compare ratings and salary just to see what the correlation is. Since I haven't gone through each team and their parks, I don't have a good idea of where the offenses should be yet.

Thanks for the numbers Joe, like always very interesting to read.

The thing that jumped out as odd to me was Arryl on both ends. Spent the least on pitching but 4 teams have more runs against. However he spent the most on hitting yet trails 4 teams in runs scored. All that with a park with a combined 20 HR roll so it's not like it's due to ballpark effect.

Seems that AT's pitching usually out-performs the amount spent. I think that's due to the match up nature of his pen. Although, this time he has Nathan. I don't think he usually has a big $ guy like that.

As for his offense, these numbers can probably help explain:
Cargo: .227
Pence. 222
Ianetta .152
Jaso. 158
Howard .233
Lucas .241 v lhp

Hi Guys,

Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers. I wanted to update you on the situation. Please say a prayer for my Mom and our family. My Mom passed tonight. It was very sudden. Just over a week from confirmation to her leaving us. Cancer can be a very quick and decisive evil.

We are missing her tonight and it is hard to realize that she no longer graces us with her presence. Our loss is Heaven's gain. Heaven added an angel tonight.

Love you Mom and miss you already.

Thinking about you, and praying for you and your family. That's so hard, happening so fast.
