Regarding players with cards for multiple teams, wouldn't it be better if each manager declared here in the ILC which players they wish to "own" before the waiver draft? For example, I would say that I choose to "own" and draft Cy Young, Carl Mays and whoever else I have initial rights to that I want to keep so that the other managers do not put them on their draft list.

I thought we could not have players on our team from any other franchise except for the Plus 2 players? I'm certainly not looking at other teams to fill my holes except for the teams I have complete rights over. You certainly aren't thinking of playing someone on another franchise ?

I thought it was declared that the most expensive season of a player put him on that franchise ?

I'm open to that idea if the other managers are as well. So basically, if a player has multiple cards and one of your franchise teams has the highest value card for that player - you would list them here as "owning them". No need to list a player if such player only has a card(s) for your franchise.

Any other thoughts of doing this?

i don't understand "claiming" them here. why wouldn't you claim all of the ones at issue? if you own a guy, i think you should him on your draft card. if you don't own him, you can't. however, if you fail to put a guy you own on your card, then someone else with a claim (e.g., a guy that is carded to your team but not the highest price card), can claim him after the draft.

I claim everyone on the Cubs and Mariners. Seems unnecessary to me.

I think maybe the point of fraank's comment was to avoid confusion.

Instead of going through with such a process, I would say that if another manager "inadvertently" selected one of your players, that you put a "claim" on such player before the waiver draft by sending an email to everyone.

Also, please refer to the following rule:

d. Any player, with multiple team cards, that is not chosen by the franchise he has the highest value card for would be available to another franchise he has a card for - after the waiver draft. The thought on "after the waiver draft" is to allow for corrections of any erroneous selections.

So for example, if the Cards franchise decides not to use Joe Torre (his highest value card is with the Cards), then the Braves franchise can pick him up after waiver draft and use his Braves card. The Braves would need to wait until after the waiver draft to do so though.

I would think after the draft anyone not claimed that has a card for multiple franchised maybe picked up for the appropriate franchise. The. A's elect not to take Lajoie. Then injuns can snap lesser card

Agreed.

Again, if a Manager beleives one of their "owned" players was incorrectly selected by another Manager, that first Manager should send an email (before the waiver draft) to everyone pointing it out. For example - in my last Double Franchise league, Hoyt Wlhelm's 5.36 card was taken by the Manager which has the White Sox franchise, when the Manager with the Baltimore franchise wanted his top card. An email was sent claiming him, and the situation was resolved.

It would be easier if we just went to our finished teams before we entered them and noted players who had seasons with other franchises and declared that we were drafting them - for me this is only maybe 5 and the players other seasons other than their highest are probably too yucky for someone to want - exception - Eckersley - I want him for his highest season but he also has a Boston card. So if we ONLY declare people like that, it would be better than declaring our 23 people draft card (minus the plus 2).

Even with all this, I STILL don't like the rule that people can be claimed that are TECHNICALLY owned by another franchise.

And the A's * ARE * taking Lajoie - his highest card is nearly 2 million higher than his Cleveland card.
