as you can tell from iphone proxies at Angels game, when not a single player eligible for this league was on the field, I do what I can to keep us moving. Im around for proxies by text, pm or email since im working on the weekend, including kings blackhawks game tommorow but will have phone and internet access, so feel free if you get time between barbecues, weekends at the lake etc...otherwise, clock is off and have a great one. :D

ps...would be nice to have draft done in time to load teams by a week from today, provided strat gives us all our teams back expediently enough.

I, too, was at a baseball game last night -- 1984 "Brownout" night at Petco Park, part of the throwback weekend for the Padres in their four game series vs. the Cubs (1984 was the year the Padres came from 0-2 in the playoffs to win three straight vs. the historically hapless Cubbies and go to their first World Series). Steve Garvey, Kurt Bevacqua, Terry Kennedy, Garry Templeton, but no Tony Gwynn (I don't think he's well). Fun night for Friars fans for a rare blowout -- 11-1, on an evening when Edwin Jackson just didn't have it, and the Padres wore what some have called "the ugliest uniform in baseball history."

Draft-wise, I will have my two players ready when the turn gets to me. I'd love to blow through this and definitely be locked and loaded by Friday if not earlier!

It looks like CATom, Terry, Jason, Cal, Mark, and I can now field complete batting lineups. Cal looks like he will have the best defensive squad, with 1s at every position but cf (a 2) and lf (a 3).

Remaining "holes":

Tom - 2b or SS (depending where Owings plays)
Meat - 2b and 3b (I assume Sanchez is platooning with Adams at 1b and not playing 3b)
Kev - 1b
Sarge - two OFs
Zim - c
Curt - 3b

My team is also not going to set the world afire defensively - no 1s, one 2, three 3s (including Hanley Ramirez, who will also make a ton of errors), and three 4s. I also worry about Ramirez's ability to stay on the field - he qualified for the batting title (and won it, along with the OPS title) on the Camp North Star CITs, but no guarantee that'll happen again here.

It's Cal who's got the six 1s - certainly not my team.

We'll see how Sarge's strategy of drafting pitching first this time works out. Sarge, Jason, Cal, and Curt have complete starting rotations. Mark needs two starters. Tom and Kev also do, but could finish their rotations with another * rated starter (there are five still left on the board). Everybody else just needs one more starter.

The strategies are interesting this time around. Sarge went for pitching first, Zim and CATom took mostly hitters early on. Cal's got a great fielding team, and Al's team, when they travel, is going to fly on a plane with two left wings.
