Is Vlad hopeless?

PostFri May 30, 2014 2:42 pm

I have an 80M team in Griffith 57. I could upgrade in RF to pick up Vlad Guerrero, who would seem to be a good fit since it is a righty power park. But I have never used him and he usually seems to stay on the waiver wire. Anybody have good luck with him in a similar situation?
Or bad for that matter.
thanks

He's probably always there because you can get similar production from Colavito or Bobby Bonds for 2m less.

your stadium is very friendly to a lh singles obp hitters also. you might find excellent value for a good fielding left handed leadoff hitter with speed.

Vlad is ALWAYS available because he is to overpriced....he is closer to a 7-8m card. You can get much better results from the expensive ($9+) Jack Clark card!!
To many teams, not enough time! Must be an addiction!!

With that 15 good jump steal rating combined with all the great catchers in ATG you are not going to get much out of him baserunning wise. But you are going to pay for it though because technically it is there. But in reality here you are not going to give him the green light unless you want to pile up the caught stealing totals.

I've had some good luck with vlad.I like his defence and arm plus he usually hit over 300 for me and steals at least 30 bases.I bat him 6 or 7 in my order.

At 75% versus right handers and above he will be pretty good, however though probably not available a good choice would be Manny Ramirez, without being injured he is great, when injured he sucks but I am a gambler at heart. Vlad has an OPS in his home park of 1.352 against rightiesbe a good one to surround with righties
