Anyone else think this is a strange trade. A team trades for 2 players he could of drafted in the first place. A 4th and 21st pick for an 11th and a 38th pick.

I am sorry you feel that way Rickcom. This was an arms length deal; an offer was made and accept. For myself, I do not appreciate what is implied by referring to this as a "strange" deal.

My priorities in the draft changed drastically in the course of events, which is why this trade was attractive to me. I would hope you accept this explanation.

I find it strange that Ron Santo is not playing for RonSanto's team!

Warning! Insight into how I think could be dangerous. I am a right hander who was raised by left handers. That has led to some twisted logic.

I have tried to draft Harmon in the past, saw him took him. Then the guy I really wanted and had planed to take was grabbed before my next pick. I took Bonds later then realized my team was not shaping up the way I wanted it to. That my lineup with Harmon and Bobby was not at all what I wanted.

I ran a trade by Jim (we have played in several leagues together) I was going to offer another. I ran that by him because I have made offers to players in the past and sometimes people take them as insults for whatever reason. I don't want to insult anyone so I wanted to make sure it was reasonable. He than made me a better offer than I was proposing. Deal done.

Indecision and a bad (for me) first pick lead to the trade. Nothing else. My championship in this league will validate my deal! Left handed logic and all.

Good luck all.

Re: 60's Keeper Draft ggrover 4 stadium

My said tale is about my first favorite player, Sandy Koufax. In my first 60s league, I decided to pick the players I wanted (not trying to guess which players would be drafted high) with Koufax, of course, being my first pick. I didn't get him or any other of my top picks. So next season I tell myself it's just not worth wasting my first pick for a chance to get him. What happens? Nobody picks him; I could have drafted him 25th! And then this league comes along. I get the second overall pick. This is my chance! Ummm, no. Koufax went (not unsurprisingly) at number one. <sigh>

But I shall have my revenge. My draft went quite well otherwise. The championship will be ours!
