How about a Japanese Daisuke Matsuzaka? Can't wait for that one.

Honestly, I'm not trying to be provocative; I just want to understand your positions this subject.

@ AndyCummings- So you would prefer 1901-2014 Ball players, no NeL?

@ Scumby- Same as above, with the additional argument that the Japanese stats are BS?

Randy would be the one that I would want included in a Japanese set. Pride of Lawton Oklahoma.

And the game has only got better from going internationaly if you like Mlb,then should we exclude the other international players from the game. The game has only improved with the players from coming all over the world.I fel would we should give it a chance. The game as become kind of stagnant.Lately I've been playing more 2013.I know most of my ATG teams off by heart and am looking forward to researching these new players.I t use to be America's game and for the most part is but baseball is growing worldwide and is improving with these players.

Yes, but Doug, ATG Is HISTORY. It's not today's game, nor do I want it to be.

On Star Trek Deep Space Nine, there is an episode where the crew of the space station forms a rag tag baseball team in response to a challenge from a bigger, stronger, faster crew of a passing Vulcan ship. How about some cards for the crew and the Vulcan players? It would open up an all new previously untapped market for SOM - Trekies!

Here's the link to highlights of the episode:

P.S.: The pitcher for the crew bears an eerie resemblance to Oil Can Boyd!

Bingo - that's it in a nutshell. I think the one's objecting to these "outside" additions are the american baseball purists who want to play or recreate american baseball as we grew up with and/or heard about from our fathers and grandfathers. It looks as though we're going to get the Cuban and Japanese players whether we want it or not, so as long as they are a separate listing like the present NEL players, I guess us purists will have to limit our play to the various "theme" leagues. And often times in these theme leagues, the NEL players are an option as a team by themselves, or as a wild card free agent to other franchise teams. So...I guess the Cuban and Japanese players will be a second and third like option. But as far as their inclusion in the general wide open auto-draft or live-draft leagues, I'm only assuming here, but I don't think us older and more traditionalist owners will be making a bee-line for those leagues.

I found online strat at TSN when it was ATG2. I couldn't believe I had found a game with MLB teams and players from the past. I was hooked. I've tried the 20xx games and mystery games and decades games. I don't care for them. ATG is history. Then TSN added cards to the set and went away from the team concept. That was fine. New cards and stadiums. Cool.

Adding the NeL players was not my preference, though I understand the feeling that they didn't have their chance and we should add them (though I don't think feel some "statement" in an online computer game matters much. Day late dollar short.) I've played with them and even created a Franchise League adding the NeL cards to historical franchises.
NeL=an ambivalent shoulder shrug from me

As I said, I don't play the other Strat offerings. I want the baseball history that is, or more appropriately, WAS ATG.

Today's outrage will be followed by tomorrow's apathy when it turns out the most valuable card in the ATG 8 set is some Japanese dude no one has ever heard of...

Sample forum post from 2015:

"Get a load of this... this idiot manager offers me Akiyama for Wakamatsu and when I declined, he counters with Akiyama for Braudilio. Come on, I wasn't born yesterday!"

Bring on Hurricane Hazle!
