So the next thing to complain about is Canadian players in ATG.Many of these players were far better than the players coming from Canada. Some players playinI wonder if guys playing here even know what Canadian players are here in ATG.Some people playing here when they found out I was from Canada didn't want me in their leagues. So I guess it doesn't surprise me not wanting players from outside the states to be in ATG.

If you don't want these players then you don't have to use them.It just adds players to the pool if people want to use them.I'm going to use them and if they don't belong here than you should be able to beat me and not have to worry about me winning any championships. So you should want me in your leagues so it's one less team to worry about. But if some of my teams do well it might change some peoples minds about these players. As you can see I like a lively debate and will battle to get my points across.

I think we are speaking two different languages here. I'm glad Larry Walker, Ferguson Jenkins, Jeff Heath and other Canadians played MLB and are in ATG. They are part of the history of Major League Baseball. Again, I'm not disparaging Japanese players. Put them in some new World Baseball Classic set or something. I Don't want them in a historical set representing MLB, which ATG is, or more correctly, Was.

@ AndyCummings- So you would prefer 1901-2014 Ball players, no NeL?

@ Scumby- Same as above, with the additional argument that the Japanese stats are BS?

Yes. But my argument is the same as the others. SOM is a MLB simulation game. NeL, Japan, Cuba and whoever else are fine for a special set, but this is getting absurd. (and my point is Randy Bass was a mediocre MLB player but Japanese Superstar. And not every Japanese and Cuban stars have produced in MLB)

This has nothing to do with countries. The Expos and BlueJays are well represented. It is everything to do with comparing apples to oranges. If SOM had an online football game I wouldn't want USFL, CFL, Arena Football and WFL players in the set either

Exactly. If Oh's card is as good as Ruths, and you use it, of course you're going to have a great player. But should the card be that good? What statistical comparison do we have to adjust these players stats? At least with the Negro League players, these guys played against their major league contemporaries enough that we have at least some point of reference. I am convinced beyond a doubt that Josh Gibson was the greatest hitting catcher that ever played the game. Now let's look at Oh. Considering the level of the Japanese leagues AT THE TIME, he would not have hit anywhere near that many home runs in MLB. He very well might have had some 30 HR seasons, but we don't have enough information to really know, or even be able to take a good guess

Richman has almost completely washed his hands of the online game...and None of the other programmers play it...they are as out of touch as can be with the ATG community....It doesn't mean they're bad guys, just clueless about their customers.

Had to go back and quote this.
The more I think about it the more this kind of sums up my feelings. Strat is not listening. Why do I still bother caring?
I enjoyed strat since childhood. And the direction it seems headed compared with what could be just makes me sad.

What I'm trying to say is why not have great players no matter where they're from play the game.Roberta Clemente is one of the best players to ever play and he's not from the states. If you read what I posted earlier,Mlb alstar teams went to J apan and played them and Oh hit homeruns off of alstar MLB pitchers.I f you were to ask those players about his hitting they would let you know how good he was.I followed baseball from a young age and my dad had a shortwave radio and I listened everyday.I followed the alstar teams that went over to Japan. But I'm beating a dead horse here.I don't think whoever was added would make most people happy as they would complain about someone being left out. That's the last thing to say about it.Play your game the way you want/

You seem to be the only one who cares where a player is from.
