I toss this out for consideration, but I know things have already started, so be it. The early round teams in this type of draft have such a huge advantage (NYY-pre for example, Ruth, Gehrig and DiMag), maybe this will give the 12th guy some hope.

After completion of the 6 rounds, all the players not taken can then be drafted individually. This would include the Nel players. The draft order would be in reverse, so #12 would conceivably take Josh Gibson. Perhaps we could have two rounds of this individual player draft?

It is also possible guys like Griffey, Thomas and Boudreau will not be taken as they are loners and the only players on their rosters worthy of consideration. This would even things out a bit.

FWIIW, sschu

With the last pick I would not mind a 2 Round player draft. But I am OK as it is.

if we get 4 or more votes to do this we can add a 2 tound free agent draft from the non selected players , including NEL

I'd vote yes for this supplemental draft - those players will be there, let's use them.

I'm a no vote. I can see the problems looming for the pre-war NYY, since I had them once in a league like this. They are going to end up with a few soft spots either in the lineup or on their pitching staff. If we implement the additional one-off rounds of the draft, we just help them fill out a team.

When you join a league like this, you have to understand that the NYY pre-war are going to make the playoffs, and try to be one of the other 3. That's the way it is.

Since, remarkably, I ended up with the first selection and now have the pre-war Yanks in my dugout, any comments I have are ripe to be seen as self-serving, but my mild preference is to stay with the original plan. I have no strong objection, however, to adding a 2 round draft if we get enough folks to vote in that direction. Since this is a 200 mil cap, we'll have the capacity, it seems, to add players.

I'm not keen on a player draft - but if we did do a player draft, I would only want 1 round. If the early team drafters have such an advantage, why make a balanced player draft? Give each team 1 crack at filling a hole, but the lineups are primarily from the teams drafted.

Ok i like this Suggestion the best. So lets take a vote - I say we have to have 7 votes ( not including myself) for a 1 round supplemental draft, going in order from 12 -1 . if we dont get 7 votes than league remains as is.

One round reverse order supplemental draft seems reasonable.

I'd like to raise the ATG8 question again. What if that comes out while we're in the midst of our draft here. Does anyone know of the additions that might affect our decisions here, or are we going to just stay with ATG7?

#1. I vote Yes to a 1 Round player draft.
#2. I vote ATG 8 if it should come out before we finish.

No on individual player drafts.
No on ATG 8.

I do know about the new players. There are not a lot of top-end cards being added (really none left). And a lot of top-end cards seem to have been Fanta-sim relics and are being replaced by "real" cards. There are also some individual NeL season cards. Again, they are lower valued cards than the current ones.
