What they should do is have a player card usage report. And cull all the unused cards from the set. Ditto for all unused ballparks.

A lot of you guys are really hard to please. Give me some new cards and some new salaries and I will be extremely happy.I love this game and if they ever went out of business (it is a miracle they haven't) I would have to find a new indoor hobby and I would be severely depressed.

For those of you who have never tried the Mystery Leagues, give it a try. There is so much extra strategy in the Mystery Leagues, when the season starts your job as manager is just beginning.

There was a time when starting pitchers threw 300 innings. There was never a time when relievers threw 350 innings.

As far as the Super Reliever debate goes...Druid brings up an excellent point. The strategy of using Starters to eat up all of your innings is just as ridiculous as Super Relievers. I have no problem with any strategy that is employed. I've us Super Relievers before and I've used No Relievers before. I'll use whatever I think might work and whatever I think might be interesting to try. I've had some success and many many miserable failures.

But as to what's realistic...sure the Super Reliever is unrealistic. But is it any more unrealistic than this?

That's 23 innings for the season out of my pen and one "starter" who may as well have spent the season on a beach in Aruba. I don't hear people complain about this very much. Personally, I think it's pretty damn impressive! :D

I had a team in that league, which greatly increased your chances of success :D

Noticed I got 311 IPs from Clarkson and 299 from Sutter. The worst of both worlds, as the team missed the playoffs.

What kind of settings did you use to keep all those 50 cent relievers out of games? Whenever I have a crappy reliever, Hal just loves to use the guy?

If I recall correctly, I just set all of the starters at F0 and slow hook. Didn't set any bullpen settings. I can't think of anything else to do.

I've used this strategy a few times and it can work well, but I don't think I've EVER approached results like this team had. This was crazy.

I tried this by copying OakAth. He used this strategy to beat the crap out of me in a few leagues doing this before I tried it myself.

I think we can expect to see a small surcharge added to the Super Reliever Strategy, or at least its three most regular abusers (cards, not managers ;) )

Or just relegate Dale Murray along with Kid Speer, Gates Brown and Ken Smith to the "unleashed" category.

I like Redrum's idea, there's a lot of extra BS cards, get rid of 'em.
