Just take five seconds, something along the lines of "We're between 36 and 48 hours away from cutting ATG 8 loose," or "Unresolved debate on the true arm strength of Rick Manning -- looking like it'll be on July 7 or a little later" or "Barring a nuclear attack from Albania, ATG 8 is making its debut this afternoon."

We all have lives we have to maintain in addition to supporting our ATG addiction, which in itself must be done in the face of open ridicule from our families ("Honey, of course I'm thrilled that your little pretend baseball players are in the semifinals!")

Sure, the bachelors among us can just go ahead and react at will to the introduction of the new cards. Many of the rest of us have to figure out a viable way to abandon our families, who just might be planning to rope us into a game of Hearts or Monopoly, or who may want us to do yard work or something.

So any assistance you can offer, like the occasional update, would be greatly appreciated.

Yep. pond scum. We can all feel good about ourselves again.

I think ATG8 will launch sometime Thursday July 3rd, but of course I am just guessing. I certainly hope it is July 3rd, I have a date for July 4th but I could see the young lady I am supposed to hang out with bailing on me (we are friends with possible benefits). If ATG8 launches tomorrow like I am hoping I will not be mad when I get blown off, in fact I might even blow her off.

I remember having problems with rude customer service representatives on the phone at SOM, but I cut the company some slack because the product is so good. I think they are trying to improve their customer relations, with some success. I do not think them not letting us know when it will launch can be considered rude to their customer base.

Supposedly the release will be tomorrow. There are some nice items in the card set, including a bulletproof catcher with a solid hitting card (but terrible defense).
