3 things Id like to mention:

1. In response to Radagast mentioning that we are lucky that SoM is still here-
I take the opposite point of view- that SoM is lucky that we (maybe not me in particular) are still here.
Yes, its a great game (why we still play), but that does not mean we should accept whatever is thrown our way.
As a few folks have said- the potential of what the game COULD be is so much greater than where we are now-
how is it that the CD-ROM game gives many more choices than the online game? it should be the opposite.

2. Im still having difficulty understanding some of the card choices based on whats been said.
As mentioned, there are a number of players from the 20XX set that would fit at ALL cap levels- best cards of Pedroia, Utley, Tulo, Ortiz, Sosa, just some that would be used in the 140 and up leagues.
Think a number of them were on G.B.s list- and not understanding the decision behind not having them- unless I am mistaken and they are being included.

3. Even though some take this as negativity- seriously hoping most folks recognize that this is not about complaining for the sake of being unhappy.
While I can appreciate that we are getting some new stuff, it would be really wonderful if the community was heard in what they requested- the prime example being the community requests for cards that people filled out 9 surveys for and again- thanks to Bill for caring enough to do all of that work.

To be fair we only know of the card additions to players already within the ATG set. Any completely new players to the game are not able to be found in the way we are doing it.

Just thinking out loud. Historically they have been reluctant to include cards in ATG of players not yet retired. There were some exceptions. I think maybe they are concerned that if they add too many of the current 200x cards it might diminish the number of people playing that game.

There are issues with MLB and the players' union regarding using the active members' information in a for-profit enterprise. Some years ago, MLB and the union jointly sued all the game companies, but the suits were withdrawn after auditors started to go through the books and failed to find nearly as many digits to the left of the decimal point as their higher-ups had anticipated.

Note that EA Sports, etc., DO pay royalties to the leagues and players' unions.

How hard would it be to let us know what day it will be released? They managed to get the 10% discount taken down in a very timely fashion....saving me from buying that second 5 pack. The silence as to when they are going to release the game is further eroding their support here.

I am beginning to suspect they are waiting until Thursday. If so, just say so. If people are waiting and checking all day, every day until then with no word, then the results are going to be disappointing to them.

Doesnt make any sense to me:

We already have Chipper, Utley, Hanley, Ortiz, Cano, Man-Ram in the set- we just don't have their best cards- the ones that might actually get drafted in the early/middle part of a live draft as opposed to in the late rounds for all of em except Chip.

Secondly- here, Ill write it for them:

"Hi guys, thanks sooooo much for being patient yet again. We anticipate the release of ATG8 to be on (shouldve been July 3) We will update you in advance should something occur where we can not meet that date."

We'd also like to thank Rburgh and A. Cummings and whoever else worked hard on this for us, as once again many in the community care more about this then we do.....And remember kids we can see and hear you, but you'll never see or hear us.
