I haven't checked his team but he may need more FA just to field a team the way it is going. I don't know if it is good that no one picks any Senators/Rangers so that I can get them all or bad that no one picks them because most of them aren't any good.

I did pick Roy Smalley if that makes you feel a little better. :)

I have a feeling that more than one of us may run into roster problems here in the 70s. Let's see where we are after the draft before we make any changes. Maybe we might have to make an allowance for "minimum-wage" $.75 million free agents, since I know I barely have any and others seem to have the same problem.

As for the Rangers: I no longer feel bad for them at all, because I WAS GOING TO PICK J.R. RICHARD!!!!!!!

Richard isn't the highest priced SP available but when your starting SS is a range 4 (Toby Harrah) I think I will need the strikeouts. I have set up my team and can make the 25 players, $80M work with Richard. I was having problems using other SPs that cost more.

Just curious how everyone got a list of their players. I went to baseball-reference.com and checked out my team for each year and said "I want him" and then back to SOM to see if that player was available. It works but filling out my team with bench guys was kind of hard because you don't look at Larry Biittner and say "He is the guy I need to win". It was more "Biittner isn't very good but he does play OF/1b so he may help".

I am doing mine from memory, but I have checked a few players just to see if they played for the Twins and I plain forgot about them. My SS and 2B area is pretty slim pickings.

I tried the memory thing then had to turn to baseball reference for some subs. After the "best 8 in baseball history" I didn't know a lot of guys who were on the Reds roster. Guys like Hal King, Ed Armbrister and Joe Hague didn't make the SOM cut. Where's Bill Plummer the second best back up catcher of all time? Second to Pat Corrales by the way.

No love for Don Werner or Vic Correll?
