Vic Correll was #2 on my autodraft list. Rats, I was hoping to force the Reds to use a free agent pick on catcher since Correll and Bench are the only Reds catchers in the 70s. Bill Plummer should be included in the 70s SOM set because he had over 100 ABs in each of 6 seasons as Bench's backup, but he isn't in the set.

If anyone is ready in the Al East, please set up the league: waivers/20% penalty.

And as a reminder, do not put any free agents on your autodraft. We will be picking free agents during waivers and any time after that.

I guess I should have read the rules more closely. I have my three free agents on my draft card. Will need to drop them and try to snag them during waivers.

Sabotaging my team not improving yours aye. What has happened to sportsmanship. Anyway, Vic will be available to you at some point. My plan is to drop him and pick up a backup C/DH before the season starts. There just aren't many options with the 70's Reds. I had to select someone and Davesodu made Vic sound so good how could I not pick him.

When we started I thought the better Reds decades would be more fun. I was wrong about that. Being locked into a roster is not nearly as much fun as having options. My next exciting free agent is going to be the aforementioned $.75M C/DH. I can hardly wait. I have looked ahead to the 80's, when the Reds were not so hot, and I think it will be more fun selecting that team. Certainly more options.

Good luck and more importantly HAVE FUN.

Sorry to ruin plans on Correll, I probably shouldn't be talking about specific players at all. I used to have a 1978 Statis Pro game and, being a Reds fan, I remembered that year. When I had to sit Bench I could play Correll, who could hit a little but had a terrible arm, or Werner, who couldn't hit but had an average arm.

I am just joking. The big dollar Reds were career Reds in the 70's so I didn't suffer the fate of the Giants. So I'm down to $.75 guys to protect. And $.75 free agents too, Metzger ($1.82) aside of course.

If there was not a CAP I would be sitting pretty with the Reds. The CAP is the great equalizer and my pitching is going to be very iffy this season. Unlike Pete Rose I am not betting on my team.

I've created the league "1970's Franchise / 4 Decade League".

Now if that Fench guy insists on calling his team Beaver Pelts there's going to be hell to pay!

So refresh my memory. Only one free agent in autodraft. All others have to have been carded to your team in 70's. Those spots that dont fill that are taken by others will be replaced in waivers or subsequently in preseason period before league begins by other players carded to your team or free agents (up to three) that are not carded to other teams. After season starts all are eligible to be picked up as free agents including those carded to anybody.
