Do we have to keep an NEL player on our roster if he doesn't fit into the team scheme or make up?

no...you can keep drop or trade him for another as long as all the parameters are met by both teams...so u can trade one NEL player for another NEL player...or for a player that played for your franchise...however the receiving team would have to make sure he follows the rules 1 NEL player per team except Indians (Satch/Troupe + Selection) and Orioles (willard Brown plus selection)............
