I'm a bit lost on the "don't show up the pitcher" rule.

While it has been mentioned before about calling an undrafted player out in the forum, what is the harm in doing so?

In the recent situation, I added the "Kershaw" comment after reposting the comment about GB not drafting a SP. Had it not been written, I might have been ignorant GB's draft strategy and drafted without understanding his card needs. I made light of him waiting to grab the often undrafted Kershaw. I didn't see Corky taken Kershaw or Joe for that matter.

As for Kershaw, he sits on the available player board - sort of like Aaron Rogers did for his football draft. In plain site and for every ESPN commentator to rant about for hours.

Frankly, I could use the draft help if someone wants to post what I'm missing on the board.

Joe don't know if it will make you feel any better or not but his name being mentioned here had ZERO impact on me drafting him. I sort of heard of him before. In all honesty I was going to draft the best pitcher I could this round and realized I had enough to fit in Kershaw.

That being said I agree with you 100% about not mentioning guys here before they are drafted. Figured it was common sense. I even felt funny about mentioning the unleashed players as a whole without mentioning any specific names earlier on in here.

That's the point, you're pointing out available players to others who may not have noticed. If you think people are routinely checking out the available player lists to see who hasn't been drafted, I think you're mistaken.

Let's put it this way. Would you mention a player on the board that YOU were planning on taking with your next pick? No way in heck would you do that. Since you don't know who other guys are planning on taking, you don't mention anyone in order to avoid this situation.

I feel better that Corky would have taken Kershaw anyway, but it reminding him that he was still available just doesn't feel right.

p.s. going to take me awhile to pick. I have to refigure everything. Stay tuned.

Semper while you may be right about Kershaw there are many other players that shouldn't be mentioned IMO. Not everyone knows every card and giving them a "heads up" about them during the draft could be considered unsportsmanlike to the other teams. Being its hard to establish a cutoff on who could be mentioned or not its best nobody is mentioned.
