Why is there no 1 game tie breaker?

I missed on the playoffs tonight after finishing in a tie for my division. This is baseball. How on earth can Strat-o not have a tiebreaker game? Total bullshit. Feel like I got my money stolen from me.

From the SOM rules:

Tiebreakers for a 2-way tie are, in order:
- Head-to-head record
- Run differential
- Coin flip

I think they do it this way (as described above) for ease of programming, although the gap between Friday and Monday leaves a couple days to fit such a tie breaker in. If someone on the inside of the design process wants to comment, please feel free; mine is an uneducated guess and not one to make you feel any better. I have been on both sides of that tie breaker for sure.
