Sorry, I did not realize there were going to be such a variety of questions, so when I did not see teams joining after the first several days, I thought this might not be a go. Now I see that there are some interested in the concept but with some valid ideas to make it work better. I knew the pairings would sometimes need more help in relief and maybe a closer than the franchises chosen. That was why I suggested up to 2 pitchers and 1 hitter (i.e. Total of 3 players) that could come from those other unused franchises. I figured owners could try choosing them in their rankings, then once frenzy occurred, everyone could properly reconcile to that rule.

Frankly I haven't really started theme leagues before, except for once or twice under the public instead of private leagues, so owners joined and fine tuning happened within the league. So when I thought there wasn't interest developing on this, my fault for not getting back on the forum to find out otherwise.

If anybody here has more experience with themed leagues, and wants to help moderate the right details getting ironed out, I wouldn't mind. I liked the concept of these World Series foes coming together, hence the way I described it, but I guess some logistics needed improvement.

It's beginning to look like there never will be an auto-draft.

Like JoeyC, I was considering taking the Phillies/Tor/KC squads but that team is in dire need of more than the one extra hitter allowed by the rules. There is a glaring void at 2b, especially at this cap level, and the team needs an outfielder that can hit righties and is decent defensively with a good arm to offset Billy Hamilton's stellar arm. Even Jimmy Rollins is questionable at SS with a 175M cap but I could accept him if the two other spots could be filled.

With that squad, you have Utley and a shot @ Alomar @ 2B.

What if we pre-assign players to squads before we draft rather than fight it out?
It doesn't have to be a lot. Maybe 2-3 players per squad.

ie. the 2 remaining teams.

10. BAL-post, BAL-exp, PIT-post, PIT-exp - In honor of the Orioles - Pirates series of 1971, 1979.
Frank Robinson stays with BAL.
11. PHI (all), KC-exp, TOR-exp - In honor of the Phillies series with Royals (1980) and Blue Jays (1993).
Alomar stays with TOR.

As well as drafting 2 players from the non-selected teams.

I think we should also go with the DH.

I'm fine with Visick's suggestion. And both of those franchises still have the option of adding three free agents.
