Can the autodraft be used to take players off the market? i.e. let's say the Reds get Frank Robinson in the AD, but subsequently drop him. Can the O's then pick him up or does he belong to the Reds even though he is not on their roster?
I would think that if a player is shared, he may be picked up by another sharing team, but I wasn't entirely clear on this.

You are correct. For any shared players between two or more real teams in this league are only your property if they are on your roster. If they end up in the free agent pool for any reason any other of their shared teams may pick them up. The only players that can not be picked up by any other team are those players that you do not share with any other team in this league including the two free agent players that we are currently drafting.
