2013 Franchise League - Drafting Franchises

PostFri Sep 05, 2014 3:31 pm

A simple concept. Managers choose a franchise. From that franchise they select fifteen players who must be kept on the roster for the entire season. Five additional players from that franchise are selected, but can be dropped/changed out with other franchise players during the season. The final five players will come from a five-player draft of players from undrafted franchises that will be conducted here on the boards. These players can be dropped/changed out as well.

Each franchise's home stadium must be used.

2013 Unleashed.
$80M/DH/5-10-20 waivers.
25-man rosters at all times.
Six-round serpentine draft. Round 1 for franchise, Rounds 2-6 for non-franchise players.

I have some interest from guys in another league I'm in. This leaves four available spots.

1. pwootten
2. jjrecupero
3. gmac94
4. RobertLatorre
5. AllStarInc
6. Delbird
7. gbrookes
8. carlerik

Paul, my only thought is that serpentine for the 5 players should maybe be a straight draft instead. The talent in the franchises 1-12 wont be balanced, Pick 1 will have many more quality players than Pick 12.

I am off on this?

Thanks for joining!

We're about ready to begin the draft. It might be a bit slow for a couple of days, as John Recupero is in Seoul for work. I didn't expect this to fill quite so quickly. Update: John is on his way home today.

Rob and I have discussed the possibility of a non-serpentine draft of free agents that would run in reverse order of the franchise draft. In the end, I think we agreed that serpentine will work fine. Some franchises definitely have more talent than others, but much of the difference can be made up through the free agent draft. $80M is still $80M.

I'll get a randomizer in the ATG forum and get this thing underway.

The randomizer has been run in the ATG forum and we're ready to draft. I've moved the draft to the Individual League Chat forum, under 2013 Franchise League. Carl, you have first pick. Make Dean mad and take the Orioles!

Paul,

I could irritate Dean but I would rather have a Beltway Series. I will take the Nationals. Unleashed made the difference. It gave me Tanner Roark as a starter.
