Just finished a league where McCovey just missed by finishing 3rd in batting.

We have an Alternate History League where each manager is in charge of an original MLB franchise; drafting 'rookies', watching old-timers retire, and working as GM to keep your franchise viable as the seasons roll. A season is based on 5-season increments, drafting new players in chronological order as they entered MLB. We just completed Season 4, which corresponds to the 1930-1934 MLB seasons.

Jimmie Foxx won the Triple Crown for the Philadelphia A's. 61HR, 180 RBI, .401 AVG

Al Simmons had a triple crown in a retro league I played in over 20 years ago-that has been the only triple crown i've seen. Only 5 players in a 12 team 54 game season batted over .300 in that league.

Andy, thanks, that looks like a fun league to be in. If u ever need a replacement... :). Gabby had a nice year and didn't know Crosetti played for Philly.

Doesn't matter who they played for in real life. Every new player draft, each manager gets to select one Franchise Player who actually played for their franchise; in Foxx's case, bontomn grabbed him for the A's. After the Franchise Player Round, any player is fair game to be drafted for your franchise. That's how Tom got Hartnett and Crosetti on the A's.
