Greatest TV Shows....This implies a wider audience base moreso than if it were merely "favorite" TV shows. OR are you asking us which shows do we think are the greatest without regard to ratings popularity, critical acclaim, and so forth (which pretty much brings us into "favorite" territory)?

I think region has something to do with it, but not everything. Wade Davis and Danny Duffy are probably under-appreciated and/or unheralded in almost all regions. Since even most of the most devoted baseball fans don't go to the majority of their team's games, they still miss out on many of the good players. I'm sure even many East Coast fans have missed out on the years Ozuna or Alvarez have been having.

I'm not sure how Greatest TV shows implies a wider audience than "favorite" does. However, I did ask what people thought the Greatest TV shows were, not just their favorites. Greatest shows does take critical acclaim into account, but it should not take ratings into account. Three's Company had awesome ratings while the superior Twin Peaks did not. You can choose whatever aesthetic standards you value, whether they be acting, writing, innovation, cultural influence, or laughs. If you do so, and separate yourself somewhat from your own personal predilections, then you would not just be picking your favorite shows; you would not just be in "favorite" territory.

For example, some of my favorite tv shows that did not make my Greatest TV Shows list was:
The Walking Dead
Family Guy
Arrested Development
Miami Vice
Penny Dreadful
Fringe

how about underrated SOM players. I have found guys like Galvis and Barnes are underrated for value to a team.

Yes, we do know all of the players. But as many of us have shown on this thread, we can still see the excellence in players that others have failed to recognize. I think Jerlins, SlOTerp, Radagast, and I have come up with some good ones. I also think Keyzick and I have well defined and demarcated our terms "underrated" and "unheralded. If it's still difficult for you to come up with players to fit those definitions, no problem. Underrated SOM players is a perfectly fine segue for the thread.

My Favorite Shows:

in no order...

The Journeyman - I was so pissed when that was cancelled (writer's strike ended it or maybe it was too expensive filming in S.F.).

The Haunting of... - no one else is going to have this one. I almost guarantee it! lol

Any show that details a person's roots/ancestry - PBS had two...I think Henry Gates version is coming back next week but not sure about their other one. Who do you think you are? is another I like (I like the U.K. version as well as the U.S.). I love that stuff.

Downton Abbey - Awesome.

Rectify

Anything on UFO's/Aliens/"Paranormal"/Reincarnation (except stupid movies that try to scare me - been there, done that...doesn't scare me when I see fake movie stuff when I've already seen/experienced the real thing). The documentary shows on this stuff can be riveting. I also see a lot of youtube.com clips (can be quite long) from UFO presenters (Richard Dolan/Stanton Friedman/Linda Moulton Howe and others). Excellent thought provoking material/ideas.

Loved True Detective. Awesome for what wasn't said just as much as what was. McConaghhey(sp?) has surprised me.

Six Feet Under was dynamite.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is probably my favorite comedy ever. When I look at Larry David I laugh...He's naturally funny.

The Office - There were some scenes in that where I couldn't stop laughing. I don't know exactly why..lol. like the time the baby's name is misspelled as Astird instead of Astrid and one of them pronounces it real slow ass-tird. "The baby's name is ass-tird". I couldn't stop laughing for some reason.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - hahahaha. Very smart .

There's a lot more but this is what I can think of for now.

Also love Manhattan on WGN. About the making of the A-Bomb.

Forgot about X-Files and Twilight Zone too.
