I'm not sure what you mean by "nit-pickery," Mes, or which text to which you were applying it. However, we could definitely avoid snide dismissive slang made in place of adult response. Professor, you forgot to address keyzick's suggestion to drop the prizes to prevent you from entering into legal action against the commissioner. I think you should focus on him first...

I'm absolutely fine with dropping the prizes. It would definitely lessen both the commissioner's responsibilities and the degree of their importance. It might lessen participation as well, but if that's the desired tradeoff, fine.

By the way, you obviously know what I do for a living. What exactly do you do? I'm curious about what profession would draw, and benefit from, your particular perspectives and modes of engagement.

I nominate PWootten as the commish in waiting, the best thing about Paul as a commish is that he always does the considerate thing and finishes last in the leagues he runs !!!!

If there is a problem with this tourney it's that not all players show the same level of commitment.

So, you responded to polite help with grudging resentment; how mature. At least you acknowledge the hypocrisy you showed in your responses. I wasn't debating you when I answered your request for information, Turtle; I was trying to help you out. When someone is offering assistance, you should respond graciously, regardless of your opinions of them. I didn't let my opinions of you keep me from offering the help. I guess that's a difference between us...
