Vinnie,

I understand that the highest-priced card of a player on a team in this league gives that player's rights to the team on the card. If that team declines to take him in the autodraft, then that player is fair game for any other team that had that player on their roster at some point in his career.

Now for my question:

Of the players who have cards for NYY, BOS, STL, etc., but no teams eligible for this league, some of those guys played for two, three, four of the teams that are in our league.

Do we duke it out for those guys in the autodraft or do we have to wait for the frenzy/waivers after?

Example: Dick Radatz. His card is Boston, can't play there. He also pitched for Cleveland, Montreal, Detroit and Chicago. Can those owners autodraft him or must they wait until waivers/frenzy?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi...I had the exact same question as Frank Bailey, so thanks for answering that. I have another follow-up question....what about guys whose highest card is for a franchise that isn't picked, but his second highest card IS carded to a team in this league...does high-card still rule?? I.E...if the high-card doesn't belong to a drafted franchise, then that player is eligible to be duked out over in the autodraft??

Thanks!

Any players not drafted in the auto draft...can be picked up in waivers ,,,regardless of high card...only rule is he must have played for your team at some point in time..priority as follows:

High Card 1st (Once on roster any card may be used)
Franchise not used...player can be taken by eligible franchise .
If High card player not selected in auto draft...player is eligible for any franchise he played for

Hope that helps

Ok...Using the example of Mike Marshall...his highest card is with the Expos...assuming they aren't drafted as a franchise...so no one owns his highest card, but his second highest card is carded to the Dodgers...do the dodgers get his draft rights, or is he eligible to be auto-drafted by any team that he once played for?? I'm just not clear if we can duke-it-out over such players in the autodraft, or if we have to wait until waivers....sorry for all the questions...just want to be clear. Thanks.

In this case Marshall duked out if Expos not taken..the key is if the high card not selected and franchise for that card not selected...fair game in both auto draft and waivers

I'm glad the issue was raised, because I had thought the phrase "after Auto draft" in the original rules meant that we had to wait to select those types of players until the draft was over.
