Question:

What if your franchise high card player is drafted by and awarded to another team who made a pre-emptive selection of him on the chance you didn't protect him. How can that be proven - that you had selected your franchise high card player, but the pre-emptive draftor selected him higher on the auto draft card.

I'm guessing that if the high card belongs to one of the 12 selected franchises, it should not be selected by anyone else. Then if that player is not selected in auto draft he's fair game. I think we're only competing in the autodraft for players whose highest card belongs to one of the five removed franchises but also played for teams in the league.

Obviously, it's Vinnie's call.

I thought there was a way to provide a link to your draft card - to subsequently show you had him on your card.

I agree with mrharrc - that if the highest card for a player is for one of the 12 teams selected in the league, that those players should be off limits by everyone else until after the auto-draft. JMO...

I do agree also - just asking what if in the case it is allowable, thought I read an example to that effect, but maybe not.

I'll use Frank Robinson as an example his high card is allocated to O's. If I elect to leave him off my card then the Reds can snag him in waivers. I can in fact (O's) use any of the Robinson Cards. Now if a player and I don't want to jeopardize another franchise but if a player's high card is to a franchise not selected then any team that he played for can list him on the auto draft...Player (X) high card is to Rockies he has another card for Twins and no other card however he played for Indians...He can be placed on auto draft with no high card restrictions...Clear as mud I hope
