Some of us have played the 1920 season via Netplay, the one where Babe Ruth is, well, Babe Ruth, and just about everyone else (pitching aside) is very much not Babe Ruth. The idea here is to set the cap at $35M and allow managers to either go Babe Ruth 1920 (via Ruth and the usual exceptional suspects) and have about $1M per player for the remaining 23 players, or spread the $35M more evenly and compete with the Babe(s) out there.
Yes, the last bit of that sentence is interesting, but I'm not suggesting a gender-based league (although it's a good idea).
Naturally, it would be dumb to create such a league and then have it sit there with 1/12 teams for the rest of recorded SOM time. Would anyone else be interested in such an idea? What about a closely similar one that is more to 12 people's liking? I do see that SOM allows for an "other" cap, which helps us here.
Anybody?
Edit: I see SOM in its infinitely not infinite wisdom has a $60M-$999M limit. No problem..we'd just have a gentleman's agreement to stay at $35M (or "player's agreement" if "babe" show up to play, which would be great).
