My question is that any player can be selected in the "WC" round, but does it have to be a player that has not played for any eligible franchise? Like lets use Babe Ruth as an example. Lets say that the Braves were eligible. Would the Babe be off limits because there is a franchise that he played for? Like Greg Maddux - no Braves, no Cubs, No Dodgers - alas but he played for SD. If that combo is picked does that remove him from WC consideration? In this case Babe is a free agent since he has no allegiance to any team...same as Josh Gibson...Teddy Ballgame etc. as long as a player has never played for franchises selected he is eligible as a wild card. Now if Padres are not picked then Maddux becomes a wild card.
That's the way I'm interpreting it. The only wild card eligible are NEL players and players that never played for any of the selected franchises. But let the Dr. confirm or deny that. But I guess another follow up question to that would be if you could change out your wild card selection(s) during the free agency period or any time during the season? You can exchange wild card and make trades as long as it conforms to rules of the league
I agree with Musial on his interpretation. As that is how I understand it. But will defer to the good Doctors decision.
YUP Agreed
Thanks that is exactly how I was interpreting it but i just wanted to make sure!!!!
