first new team in...forever, opinions

PostSat Nov 01, 2014 4:06 am

i would like to start off by saying i hope you all have been well in my absence. it has been awhile since i have played, but i got bored recently and won my fantasy league. henceforth i had a little extra cash in my pocket and figured what the hell, i wonder how strat is doing, what has strat been up to. i am also excited to see they have at least added some new cards.

here is my new team 100 mil/dh the only requirement is that i keep duffy and groh on the roster.

Love Duffy! I won 95 games with Duffy, Sisler, and Ichiro......it was, however a $120 league.

For whatever reason I always see people using the other Ichiro Suzuki card (3L) and with great success. I noticed Skip was in Forbes 57 as are you. I use that stadium and many of the same players quite often... Even though I always have a positive run differential, I have had three ATG 8 teams miss the playoffs in a row. This was coming off of having several teams from the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2012 and 2013 not miss the playoffs.

Why all the left handed starting pitchers? ................. Welcome back and the Best of Luck to you!!!

i got score and sadecki due to their being no BP singles on their cards, and i usually use johnson with great success. plus i am facing some pretty lefty heavy teams. i thought about swapping out score for someone else, but changed my mind.

has anyone seen how this stone card does?

I like your team a lot. I love your SP. However i would downgrade Wilhelm and use the money to upgrade your catching. Because of your good hold ratings, the catching arm can be as bad as +1.
I have used a lot of your hitters with great success, but firmly believe that the 3L Ichiro is the way to go.

I would rather see one of the Torriente cards in the OF (in CF, with Duffy in LF) than Stone. Count me among the fans of the Ichiro card you are using now, although if you get Torriente you should switch Ichiro cards.

I would change out Glaze and Abernathy as well - with a super-reliever on board, I see no reason to chew up another $3.5 million on two more relievers. I've become partial to using Miljus lately, mainly because nobody else seems to be using him so I can get him easily.

I agree that your C position should be upgraded. There are lots of cheap platoon options; you probably know most of them. In general, I prefer to have my C vs LHP paid about 3 what my C vs. LHP gets - that would rule out using Munson except in a very expensive platoon. For singles parks, I have been very happy with Frank Duncan vs. RHP and any of the sub-$1 million lefty bashers as his platoon mate.

well torriente is taken as well as lofton and mcgee. so i think i am going to stick with duffy in center. i know it is not ideal, but what is a manager to do. i took your advice on duncan and went with hershberger as my C v. LHSP.

i am facing too many RHSP to use the other suzuki card. i have had great success with the cheaper card.

i've made a few other changes to my bench as well.

improvement or not?

With your hold ratings I feel Duncan loses a lot of his value.
