Plan B, the reason two players with identical real life Major league stats - lets assume hitters for this scenario - can have different Strat cards with one hitter much better than the other is because Strat (the card makers) considers the home ballpark of the actual players as criteria for making the cards.
So you could have a hitter from the Yankees with 20 HRs and a hitter from the Padres with 20 HRs and if they had roughly the same amount of plate appearances the hitter from the Padres will easily have more ballpark HRs on his card. That's because it's tougher to hit HR in Petco than Yankee Stadium.
That's why it's important to be able to read cards (know what all the dice roll results mean and what the symbols stand for).

The Pitcher's card can also vary based on Centerfield defense. So if you have two major league pitchers with identical WHIP's and HR's allowed in the same amount of innings the cards can be significantly different based on the defense of the pitcher's Centerfielder in real life. If he was very good then your pitcher will suffer by having more BPHRs (maybe natural HRs too) on his card.
