CNBL - Cyber Net Baseball League

CNBL is a Strat netplay league that is seeking to start at the release of the 2015 season. Initial draft is set in late March or early April 2015. Currently CNBL is seeking sincere managers and owners to join and develop league rules and structure for the following season. This gives everyone time to study for draft, set-up the league on their machine, get familiar with netplay, for managers to develop rules and etc, and of course for the Commish(myself-ScottyDouglas) to get all league information written and posted.

CNBL does have some basic requirements of any and all who which to join.

They are:

1. You must have the updated 2015 version.
2. You must be capable to play through netplay on the Strat-o-Matic game. League Commish will help any and all getting netplay and hosting on thier machine working properly.
3. You must take on the responsibility of maintaining your team and games on your own machine and game.
4. You must draft and play within a reasonable time table with all other managers.
5. You must provide the league Commish all stats for your team every 27 games so that records, league leaders, and misc. stats are tracked.
6. You must follow all rules and league structures by league Commish and all voted on by league managers.

CNBL structure. *(Note) Not all league structures are cemented as all managers have say in the structure, rules, guidelines, and development of CNBL.

1. There must be at least 8 initial teams and if the league develops as intended then a maximum of 30 teams.
2. Each team will have a maximum 40-man roster and a 25-man active roster.
3. CNBL is a keeper league but to keep each team competitive from year to year each team will only be allowed to hold 20 players at the end of the year and all players dropped will re-enter the rookie draft the next season. This allows for weaker teams to get value pick-ups and to not allow stronger teams to stock pile talent.
4. Roster moves are unlimited.
5. Each team will be allowed to choose to play with DH or no DH. Home team games are played according to the home teams decision. The DH decision must be made before the beginning of season and cannot be changed after beginning of season.
6. Divisions will be decided by number of teams. Divisions will be randomly assigned. Teams will remain in their division from year to year unless new teams join or leave league in which divisions will be maintained accordingly.
7. The league Commish (ScottyDouglas) shall maintain a record of all drafts, transactions, and player movements and provide a copy to any owner on request.
8. All rule changes must pass by majority of owners. A development of a rule must be announced first and then voted on.
9. League Commish will and must maintain rules on all team managers.
10. Promotions and demotions of players are allowed throughout the season at will until 140 games. After 140 games then all teams are permitted to bring up all 40 players.
11. Will play by a strict player AB and INN out put. No player is allowed to go above the AB's and INN's on their card. If this rule is violated then a penalty determined by owners will be enforced.
12. CNBL will not play with injuries.
13. CNBL will play with the current super advanced game rules, with no BP/weather/clutch hitting effects, with super advanced stealing system, with super advanced strategy charts, with no miscellaneous rules, with closer rules, with pitcher fatigue and with no pitch counts.
14. 162 game regular season for each team.
15. There will be one league with no sub-leagues.
16. Playoffs - TBA

Any additional rules or thoughts can be discussed and passed in the future.

Initial Draft

1) The initial draft is a 40 round live draft, the order to be determined by a randomizer.
2) Only those players who were issued Strat cards for the 2013 season are eligible for the initial draft. There is no requirement for a team to drop a player who is not issued a card in the new year's set.
3) The initial draft is serpentine.
4) Draft picks are tradeable.
5) All draft picks will be conducted with 24-hour clock on day of draft. If an owner fails to draft within 24 hours, the next person is free to make a pick. The owner who was skipped may make his/her pick at any time, choosing from the players not yet picked.
6) The draft will be conducted in the Strat-O-Matic chat forum under heading - CNBL initital draft or Facebook group page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/248989915291111/. League Commish will post each pick on both pages.

Annual Free Agent/Rookie DRAFT

1) A straight draft will be decided by order of regular season finish - worst to first. Ties will go to head to head matchup record - the losing team. Another tie will go to team with the least runs scored.
2) Only those players who were issued Strat cards for the current season are eligible for the draft.
3) There is no requirement for a team to drop a player who is not issued a card in the new year's set.

I have always wanted to try netplay on the computer game, but never had the opportunity. Would the first season be with the current (2013) cards?

Yes it would. I am currently playing a live league which started in the 1955 season but some players do not have a computer and are disabled. Three of the league members are interested in joining this league and I am trying to develop a big league with awards via mail or online. A league that continues for years. The excitement of playing current years to past years is the unknowing of players and injuries compared to looking up players careers.

Ok, sign me up. I'm going to PM you. I'd like to try a pickup game or two just to get acquainted with netplay.
