First of all, team, the fact you are "giggling" at anything is both sad and disturbing. I made no rants, and there was no anxiety. If you think I did, show where and how. We both know you can't. In Heyward's worst year he was worth 2 wins over replacement, whereas in Miller's best year he was worth 2 wins over replacement.
Yes, WAR is a lovely statistic; however it is not the only one. If it was, statisticians, baseball writers, and baseball executives would only utilize it. They don't. I showed how many other statistics showed Heyward's deficiencies and Miller's skills. The fact you didn't try to debunk those points or stats shows you can't. And considering Heyward's worst year was last year, even your WAR argument is dubious.
Heyward has otherwise been a 4-6 win player which is all-star, if not (yet) MVP caliber. He's turning 25 this year.
Now you're just repeating yourself, try to edit better. Also, since St. Louis only has Heyward's rights this year, his age isn't very relevant to his value to them. However, Miller is just 24, and the Braves have four years of his services. So, his age is very relevant to them.
Meanwhile, Miller's important peripheral k/bb stats imploded faster than Strether's patience over the keyboard.

First of all, you mistakenly assume his having shoulder troubles and his topping out his innings and losing his spot to Wacha negate each other; they don't. Both were true. Also, he still had a sub 3.00 ERA in September, 2013, a 2.94 ERA in this year's second half, and a 1.49 ERA this September. Considering he was also throwing 93-94 during that period, we can assume those shoulder problems are gone.
Braves swindle indeed.
