Pitcher Fatique

PostThu Dec 04, 2014 8:31 pm

Does anybody really know how it works? I understand how it comes into effect and how they get tired but what exactly happens on the card? The @ isn't used so what determines what rolls becomes hits and what hits are they? Does a flyball b become a homerun at F2? Does groundball b become a single at F5? Does any roll except a strikeout become a Single at F0? Is it the same for Starters as Relievers? I can't find that info anywhere. Does anybody really know for sure?

A while ago, I wanted to actually see what rolls were changed when a pitcher went into fatigue and spent a week or so examining games where pitchers were running on fumes (F0). After about 100 PA, I saw many hits on the pitcher card, but none of them came on @ rolls.

Someone in the forum said that as a pitcher gets tired, the game engine increases the probability of getting one of the hit rolls that are already on the pitcher card. So there is no way to know if the hit was influenced by the fatigue.

I don't know how it works when Billy Wagner 04 gets tired because there are no hits to start with.

The @ is ignored completely. The game engine decides based on a vague formula what f? level pitcher is at. Based on that the computer decides if a given result should happen. Then it picks a roll that will provide that result. You will never really know if that roll you see was an original roll or a contrived roll. I expect in the case of a pitcher who has no hits on card computer simply selects a hit off the hitter card and displays that roll and result. Everything is black box.
