HAL and Defensive Subs

PostFri Dec 05, 2014 2:32 pm

I am playing 60"s, and have:
M Alou CF - 2(+2)e8 / RF- 2(+2)e8 playing RF and
Bonds RF 2(-4)e7 / RF 2(-4)e7 playing CF because of his better arm.
However, each game HAL switches their positions in the 7th even though I don't have this strategy setting selected. I even selected them in the defensive strategy setting as preferred above, and HAL still made the switch??
Is it because Alou's primary position is CF and Bonds is RF?
Is there a setting that prevents this from occurring?

These changes were supposed to be fixed, but obviously sometimes they still occur. HAL likes the better arm in rightfield even though you and I want it in centerfield!

on one team I had, HAL would switch Earl Flick to CF and Billy Hatcher to RF. So in this case HAL did not want the better arm in RF.
Additionally, why would you want the better arm in CF? My guess is you're thinking of the "old days" when any open hit was designated to go to center field. The game has not worked like that for years

I thought that most open hits still go to CF, 3 of 6 to CF------2 of 6 to LF or RF depending if it is a LH or RH hitter, with the other chance going to the opposite field. A single die roll in essence on open hits.
