Again not to hijack the thread, but I have had very good luck with Edmonds 2004 card even at the 140M and 200M levels, where he is sometimes the best FA CF available if one has a bad draft.

I'm not sure why he has such a bad rep among many players, but he's generally performed for me offensively in parks that support lefty power—and of course his defense is excellent..

as much as I want '66 or '67 Matty Alou, I asked for '77 Bostock. won't play the what-if game here, but he did seem like a good player cut down too soon.

Agreed. I remember watching NFL Today with Brent Musberger and Irv Cross and Jimmy the Greek and Phyllis whatever her name was, when Brent reported Bostock's death. I had just turned 13, and a young man cut down in his prime (only 27) really shocked me as a young kid.

did you know Bostock's father played in the Negro leagues? , the man who killed him got off by a plea of insanity. he was then released from the psych ward and has been free ever since. he never committed another crime.

Thanks for this link! I nominated Bostock because I thought he was a player well on his way to stardom, when as this article recounts, he was taken down so tragically early.

Mike 4169, sir, can you name some catchers or 2bs that are not in? (especially 2bs)

my favorite catcher would be Rick Wilkins '93, I believe - he would make Cub franchise league teams TOTALLY awesome.

he would not have as much of an impact, but Ken Hubbs would be fine w. me too. he would not be that big of an impact, i guess.

AJ Pierzynski and Yadier Molina come to mind too.

Tony Lazzeri who I did manage to nominate at the last minute. Maybe Grudzeilanek? Or Polanco for 2B

Soriano played more 2B than outfield could consider him.

For catchers maybe McCann, Posey, Varitek.. All newer guys would have to look back for more
