SOM was playing a stupid joke. Jeter actually a 4

If SOM posted this as a joke i think it is great. it might actually mean that they know us as an audience and that we would get all freaked out by our love of stats.

yes, jeter has at times been greatly overrated including by yankees management to their own detriment. how many balls hit gaps in the last 5 years because of his ever decreasing range? but " oooohh, ahhhh look at how professionally he looked when he failed to get that groundball. people tell your kids if they are going to miss ground balls, make sure they do it like derek jeter. do you remember when he dove in the stands to get that ball 50 years ago". its like watching recent bb king concerts.

I took it as a joke that Yankee fans would "lol" at but fans of other teams maybe not so much. My assumption is that most of the Strat-O-Matic staff are Yankee (or Met) fans so that probably played a role in coming up with the joke in the first place.

I'm a Giants fan and thought it was very funny if it was a joke. And if it was, they were just poking a little harmless fun at players who can take this game a bit too seriously.
