Mystery Tournament Sign Ups have begun

Sign-ups for the 2015 Mystery Tournament are now being taken. Yes, 2015. With the holidays and end of year approaching, the tournament will kick off in January. We will need a few weeks to allow for sign-ups. Tentative first game date for the 60s season will be 1/12. Tournament banner page will be up next week. For those of you that have played in the tournament before and for those of you who are new to the Mystery Tournament, I've attached a link to last year's tournament. Tournament will consist of four seasons (one each of 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s), plus a championship season for the top 12 teams by point total. The salary cap is 80 mil with the usual 5/10/20 penalty for player cuts during the season. The 60s and 70s will be played without a DH, the 80s and 90s will include a DH. The championship season will be determined by a vote of the 12 finalists. They will choose season and DH or no DH.

The official sign up sheet is posted under a new Mystery Tournament heading in the Board Index. You can sign up there, or you can reply to this post and we'll add you to the official sign up sheet. Keep in mind that this is a 4 season commitment, so, don't sign up unless you are sure to play all 4 seasons.

I don't see The Unbeatable Chessmaster on the sign up list. Is he afraid of the competition or has he signed up under another name so he doesn't spoil his "unbeatable" brand with a failure? Actually, I've been holding out to see if he was in or out.

Boy am I relieved. I thought for sure that with Chess joining there would be a stampede for the exits and the mystery tournament would be cancelled. However no one was intimidated and even more have signed up!
