A shout out for Glenn, our own The Biomechanical Man (in the Resources section)!

First, Happy New Year to all.

In 2014 my "day job" was quite busy, starting with all of the Tommy John injuries in MLB. Pitch Smart is our first reaction in hopefully reducing the number of serious injuries in professional and amateur pitchers. When I say "our", I mean MLB, USA Baseball, and the elbow task force that MLB set up of Dr. Andrews, me, and the rest of the people identified on Pitch Smart. Last month I helped introduce the Pitch Smart program to Major League Baseball. Next weekend I'll be at the ABCA convention introducing it to amateur baseball leaders.

I am still playing Strat, just haven't been on the boards much,

So you ever go up to a colleague and say ... "Hey, that guy you are working on tomorrow is on one of my Strat keeper leagues so make sure you get a good night's sleep tonight.

I was just thinking about this topic recently. Is it believed that there is any difference in how pitches are distributed? For example.

15 pitches per inning for 5 innings = 75 pitches
30 pitches 1st inning and 10 pitches next 4 = 70 pitches over 4 innings.

Are these equivalent with regard to stress on arm and likelihood of injury? Is the 75 pitches slightly worse because of more total pitches? Or is the 70 pitches more risky because of the high amount in the one inning? Would it make any difference if the 30 pitches were in the 1st inning as above or if it was 10,10,10,10 and then 30 in 5th inning?
