Kind of joking about being a noob. I have not played much 60s or 70s but at one time when it was still at tsn I was top 3 in 80s teams played. I have played my share of 90s as well. Always have been more prolific than good however.

Didn't you once win a championship in the 80s without making a roster move?

Knowing when NOT to make a move makes the great GMs! Well done guys!

By the way, someone mentioned earlier that winning percentages and championships were tainted when Hal would make the lineups. I did not start playing the mystery leagues until AFTER those changes were made with Hal. I won 3 Mystery championships in a row and 5 out of 6 last year (2013/2014). I don't think I have ever missed the playoffs in an 80s league ( in at least 6 tries). I hope my luck holds out!

I never played a 60s. Will be lucky not to lose 100 games. Have never lost a 90s. 1-0 lol.
My strength is 70s and 80s play. Will have to win both to get to the finals. This is for fun and very cheap entertainment over the next 8 months.

Try not to twist and misrepresent my words, RB. As you can see, I never said winning pcts and championships were ever "tainted."

Also, I would add that great managers also know when to make a move. Unlike others, they rarely wait too long to do so.

Good luck in the tourney.

Hey I am right there with ya, Chess, on never having played the 1960s Mystery Leagues, and even worse I have never managed a non DH league on-line team ( in 50 leagues or more). Though I have managed a couple of teams that didn't use the DH in National League replays. I am more of an A.L. GM... But Chess, we will not lose 100 games,......hopefully,....knock on wood! Here's to hoping! :D :geek:

I love the 60's mystery game!!
I used to really love the 1969 game but they replaced it with 60's MCG when they moved over to this new site and left TSN.
At least with the 1969 cards you knew what you were paying for, with these mystery cards it's a total crapshoot. This levels the playing field and gives everyone a fair shot at winning.
Unless you draft Jim Fregosi or Ron Santo that is!

Yes I did, but it was a 24 team league and the player set is so small nobody that was available would have been a move up. They don't even allow them for the 80's anymore.

I loved the 24 team leagues. That is basically all I have been playing in my non mystery teams.

Here is the no drop team and it was a 24 team league

I have a team in the semi finals in a 1980s league tonight. It is game 5 but I am more excited to see my first 1960s team and my first tournament team! I wish they would run the drafts tonight!
