It happens Corky. Such is SOM.

We still suck on the road. I don't really get it, but there it is. Did manage to win one game tonight at Stoney, but four back of a playoff spot and no signs of being able to win on the road points to falling short. Just can't seem to get that done. Dang it.

Oh well, we'll keep battling. You never know!

Another epic game vs. the Real Things, 18 innings! The only HR of the game sealed the win. Don't know about your guys, JTJ, but my pitchers have really no more 'arms' anymore.

Yeah Big A, that was a killer after we took the lead in the 16th. Lose on a 1-4 HR.

I think we're toast. Just can't win on the road and we lost Almonte for 10 and can't replace him now. Get Konerko back tonight (after missing one more LHSP in game one) just killer times for injuries. Oh well, everyone gets them.

Given our road record, we better win EVERY game at home.

Wow, what a crappy way to lose a game.

Come from a 7-3 deficit to score 7 runs capped by a (1-5) Granny by Konerko to lead 10-7. All this only too see a possible DP to Segura turn into a (1-2) single, then a PB scores one and moves the tying run to 3b from whence he scored. WAIT, just realized that Segura and Lucas were both injured so it was actually Bogusevic at SS. :o

Fast forward to the 12th. Stoney gets a single off of my Catcher (single on a 1), A SB by Fuld (no luck there) a WP and a fielders choice.

Wow. We're toast. Just playing to be in the Central now. :(

Medina has just KILLED us. A 1.50 whip and a 5.50 ERA. Five BS and 8 losses. He's a pretty good pitcher, but he's sucked. Choate hasn't been much better. At least Choate can point to a 52% roll on the hitters card. After a poor start, Medina is almost even. As a team we've come back to an almost reasonable 51.3%. I guess Wainwright sitting at almost 53% is the other big disappointment for us.

Oh and to add injury to insult, Segura was lost for his max of 3 and Lucas for 15 tonight. That combination of injuries leaves us w/o a SS for 3 games. Wow, when it rains it pours. Almonte is still out for another two series too. Since game 131 we've had three max injures (2 for 15) and a 10 gamer. A loss of 43 games. Ouch.

The season is down to the last handful of series. We'll see if the injury virus will remain in the West and avoid the cold East.

In other news, I broke two ribs playing rugby over this weekend.

Joe, while the sequence is unfortunate (for you), the individual results are not out of the norm. Sanchez is a C4 (not sure why you said 1) so giving up a single on an x play isn't a big stretch. Jones +1 and Sanchez +1 give Fuld a realistic shot for a steal (haven't calculated the math), Jones has a 20 WP rating so no big surprise there. And a ground ball to 2B finishes things off.

Semper, sorry to hear about the ribs.

Stoney, there is only one single on the C(x) chart for all catchers and it's on a 1. It's the only chart where this is the case. Take a look and see.

On Fuld, I said there was no luck, maybe you took that as sarcasm, that wasn't the case.

Yes, Jones has a 20 wp, but it's still only a 5% chance of happening.

Anyway, it's just one game and, as I pointed out, I got a 1-5 Grand Slam to put us in the lead to start with. Just at this point in the season you need those games. You can't blow 3 run leads in the 8th. We've been doing it all year with Medina and Choate very much underpeforming.
