Holy Hot Stove, Batman!

I have reviewed the last week's trades (since I last updated the spreadsheet) and made sure everything is recorded and updated.

TheChamp - it appears you have one too many players on your veteran roster as a result of a trade you made where you sent 1 veteran and 1 unpromoted prospect (Ventura) for 2 veterans and a draft pick on Jan 11. It looks like you need to drop one player. Please review your roster on the Googledoc and let me know if something was missed.

Geoff - according to the Googledoc, you are 3 veterans over the limit. DO you have 3 drops to make?

Note - I am not going to remove any tentative preseason mass drops from the rosters unless it is stated that the drops are final.

Actually - I may have been wrong when I said this. I think I was thinking of when Rant and I swapped 1st round prospect picks in 2014. I have no evidence that I sent my own original 2015 first round prospect pick to peterdouglas38. Peter was asking me about this, and now I'm not sure.

I'm searching the records of trades, but not finding anything relating to my own original 2015 first round prospect pick being traded away. So it looks like I still have it.

Comments? peter?

Geoff

Did you figure anything out about this Geoff? I can try and dig into it a bit later if you like...and see if I can find anything.

Cal, I updated all my trades already, was going to do the rest tonight if I had not heard from you. I had Spider's 5th round pick to trade to Joker, so that is the one he know owns. It is updated on the spreadsheet. Thanks for doing all that work, it got super busy in this league.

Yeah, I noticed that, so I double checked everything and updated the "Picks traded away" section below the "Picks obtained" section of the Rosters by Position sheet. I also updated the Recent Trades section and added the note about your traded 5th round pick being originally acquired form Spider.

We should be good to go (with the exception of TheChamp's drop to bring his roster into compliance). Until the next day of Winter Meetings... :P

Guys,

Getting excited for the draft. In reading the rules, I wanted to verify:

- I need to drop at least 10 and as many as 15 players (I have one pick traded away and 1 pick acquired by the previous owner)

- Everyone participates in the first 10 rounds, Round 11-15 are only for those that have roster openings.

- Any other advice?

In terms of drops - this is the idea - you get to keep up to 20 players (less if you want) and 10 prospects (less if you want).

You're correct about the free agent draft.

There's a 2 round prospect draft.

There are 2 leagues played each year. After the first league is done, you can choose to drop a player or 2, and then there is a supplemental draft - essentially a small free agent draft - in between leagues 1 and 2 each year. I haven't taken full advantage of the supplemental draft in past years to this point, but I think the idea there is that you can draft players who have had hot starts in 2015 (i.e. draft them for next year's cards as keepers), or just to fill in roster holes.
