Next technical question:
Since Bill Virdon was a supplemental pick and he's under $2M, if fench releases him is he fair game to everyone or not?
Not that I care, just rather it be cleared up before we start.

I believe that these first two draft picks we just took are exclusively ours to use or not use and can not be used by any other team.

The two optional <$2 million supplemental players can be picked up by anyone during the autodraft or later in the season and are not exclusive to any team.

Although Virdon is <$2 million, he was chosen as one of the first two picks on this board so he is fench33's whether used or dropped.

This is subject to the commissioner's agreement or disagreement of course.

That is the correct interpretation. Because Virdon was taken in the first two rounds he will belong to who drafted him for the entirety of the season, whether he drops him or not.

That would be my interpretation as well. Just wanted to clear it up so there are no arguments later when Fench realizes he made a mistake and dumps him.

Bill Virdon has now been talked about more on this thread then during his entire career.

As an interesting aside, his nickname was "The Quail". Not sure if that was a complimentary tag or not.

That was a big move on your part. I had him slated to be my first "Under 2 Million" pick, but was considering taking him straight up. But, I needed catcher help and nothing under 2 Million moved me much.
