Mariano Duncan in the 90's

PostThu Jan 29, 2015 3:15 am

I have Duncan in the 90s. All his cards show him as a switch hitter, but in a series, another manager brings in Brad Clontz to face him twice, with Clontz listed as right hand specialist. If my memory is correct, Duncan batted a year or 2 as a right hander only and not a switch hitter. Even though this doesn't show on his cards, is it possible that Duncan was a right handed hitter one year and does not show and so a right handed specialist is brought in to face him on purpose. Maybe far fetched but it sure seems odd to bring in a right handed specialist right handed throwing pitcher to face a switch hitter twice in the same series.

Maybe he is on one of those cards where he does quite well against LHP- hence the RH specialist.
