Hey fellas, sorry about the delay. My computer crashed, I started a new job and moved into a new place. All within a couple of weeks. So I haven't had any access at all the past 2 weeks. Assoon as I can afford another computer, I will setup the new league. Its just been a lot at once. But i'm really looking forward to reconnecting with everyone again. :D ;) Robt

Again, my apologies. I have been working a new job 72 hrs a week and sleeping all the rest and making less than with cab. It's new and I believe it will pickup the last 2 mos of the year, but I have had almost no computer access. I have nearly missed 2 thirds of a season now in a league with Edge. I am so far behind and haven't even had time to set lineups or pitching matchups for several weeks now. So once I have daily acces again, I will setup the new league. Otherwise, it will just be another disaster - especially against this group. Again, I don't have a lot of control over my income as I pay a lease and gas and hope for fares. Right now am just breaking even. :) But patience has been serving me better than in the past.

So for now, it's tentative as far as time. Gotta' pay my bills 1st. Get a new computer and then I will set it up. Thanks for your patience. 8-) ;) Robert

UPDATE: Hey fellas, sorry about the delay...I still haven't had enough to purchase a computer and pay all my bills as well. But I hope that the Holiday season will allow me enough to make enough driving cab to purchase one used. If any of the GBBR crowd has gotten a new computer and have an old laptop taking up space, I'd be happy to pay the shipping at this end     (it's been that bad here in Phx.) I have been experiencing age discrimination, while trying to get a job driving with benefits. So I continue to drive a cab until I can get something else.

I can't believe all the red tape it takes to get a simple driving job, when I have 24 yrs experience as a contract driver in Phoenix. But I plan to save my pennies to get a used laptop with enough RAM for all the functions I use it for. As soon as I have one, I will setup the new GBBR/LOTO League.

Instead of just one at a time, I am considering a 3 League series. All will be Autodraft with DH, 80M, Advanced, Progressive Caphit, and any Ballpark(Multiples in each league. However, in the 3 League format, each of us may only use a ballpark 1 time in each of the 3 Leagues. But the 3rd and Final Championship Round, Ballpark choice will be given (in order) to the combined 1st 2 league winning pct. (Or total wins vs losses.) - From best to worst. So, this means that even if you didn't win a championship in the 1st 2 leagues, you can still pick your Ballpark 1st if you won the most games combined in the regular seasons. In the Championship round there will be 12 different BP's. And you must use a team you haven't already used in the 1st 2 Leagues.

So that is the reward for winning as many games as possible in the 1st 2.

I think SOM is offering a pkg of 3 teams for $45, so that shouldn't be a stretch for players with no credits to burn. I am tinkering with the idea of starting the 1st 2 Leagues simultaneously, or a week apart. so that we will finish 2 months later and commence the Championship round before the new set comes out. That should get us to the new set with our competitive juices flowing.

Once again, everyone will have the advantage of beating up on the worst player in the league -ME. So it would behoove you to try to get in fast as I will likely be in the East. Only 1 rule - Stoney is not allowed in the East with me in the 1st 2 leagues.  ;) I want at least a little bit of chance at this. But I want him in my Division in the 3rd and Final round. I would also prefer not to have Edge in my Division in the 1st round as we have beaten up on each other so many times since 2002 that the familiarity is overwhelming.  Aside from those 2 minor "preferences"(Not rules), Let's try to mix and match, so we all get to be in the same Division with each player at some time in the 3 game set.

Please feel free to leave q's, comments, complaints - But be willing to wait for my response until next Wed, as that is the only day in my schedule that I have computer access at the library. I look forward to getting together with all of you for these winter months before the big thaw. 8-) :D ;)

1 last note - I am living in the host Super Bowl city this winter. (Phoenix) Since I am no longer married, I don't have the facility to put any couples up due to living in a 1 room studio. But anyone single person who doesn't mind sleeping on the floor in a small space is welcome to stay that week leading up to Super Bowl Sunday. :) Mind you, I will be working almost non stop, so you could have a smidge of privacy. (BTW, I'm not gay, just Bi   )

I have met a number of you over the past 14 yrs and look forward to at least hooking up 1 nite if any of you will be attending the BIG GAME or just wanna' party in a warm weather Super Bowl town. :) ;) ;) BTW, the women here are gorgeous and very friendly. :) ;) . AND for any of you associates who ARE gay - They're pretty friendly too. (Your secret's safe with me...For a small fee, that is.)

So lets get this show rolling! GOOO CARDINALS!!! :o  :D Robert - aka Swpsychic

BTW, I also know where many of you are from. But not some of you. If you don't mind, I'd like to know 2 things about each of you. 1. What is your hometown and or favorite team(s) 2. Your Date of Birth - so I know what sign you are. (I have been a reader for over 35 yrs and I like to know what people's signs and Life Numbers are - as well as their ages. I am originally from Bridgeport, CT (50 mi East of NY) I'm born Sept. 3rd, 1953 - 61 yrs and counting backward.) I have lived in Phoenix since Dec of 1990 - 2 wks prior to Operation Desert Storm in the Gulf. I grew up as a NY/SF Giants fan and have thoroughly enjoyed the past 5 yrs - winning 3 Rings after a drought since 1954 when Mays made that famous catch and throw. My favorite NFL teams growing up were Unitas' Baltimore Colts(Never the Indianapolis Colts) and the KC Chiefs in the AFL/AFC. And I have been a diehard Boston Celtics Fan since childhood. But I do root for the local teams here, as I was here when all the Stadiums/Parks were built in Phoenix. Aside from the DBacks, Mercury and Rattlers(Arena FB) Phx has not had a World Champion in any other sports. So I am hoping for a Super Bowl Title here at home for the Cardinals, who I once described as not only the worst team in NFL history, but the worst team in ANY Sports in history. Believe, me...I feel for you if you are a Cleveland fan.

This is way more about creating stimulating conversation and debate about sports than being nosy. I hope that over the next 3-4 months that we will all know each other a little bit better than before. Sports has always been a great way to get to know people in my life. Some of you, I already know pretty well. But just tell us all a little bit about yourself so we can get a sense of our competitors/friends here. Hope you all will have a safe and enjoyable Holiday Season.

My Best to All, Robert

Robert,

The open forums probably aren't the best place to "share", but I'm also a Virgo, just turned 50, originally from the Chicago area. Blackhawks and Cubbies have always been my teams. Wishing you the best of luck getting things back in order!

THat's actually a good point, J...Things have changed a lot since SOM went online in 02'. I used to be able to send messages to invite players in those private boxes with listed friends, where you could read all about each of your friends profiles when it was run by TSN. But we no longer have that luxury. . ...oh well. But we can all do that in the league mail. I believe i will have a computer by monday and will setup the single or double leagues hopefully by wed.

Then we can fill at leisure. I am just as excited as everyone to compete with the best here once again. Rob

Hey Rob, the new teams are coming out in about 2 weeks. Maybe we can kick off a GBBR league with the new set at the end of the month.
