Buzz - you can promote prospects at any time, however once the drops are final you can't release a player from the regular roster. So you have to promote prospects when you make your cuts or keep an open roster space on your 30 man roster if you are not sure if you will promote a prospect. If you are not sure about a promotion you can keep 20 regular players, then only draft 9 players and promote a prospect to equal 30.

I guess what I am concerned about is a player like Drew Pomeranz. He now has his second carded season and is required to be promoted. I was wondering when the forced promotion would take place. If I decided I didn't want him, he should be in the pool for the FA draft. And if I promote him before I declare my drops, I would have to drop an extra player if I want to keep him. Or, Should my drops be made and have to promote him immediately, counted as part of the 10 players to be drafted, so everyone would know he is unavailable?
