Instead of that card, I got from SOM a 1971 Bob Didier card to make a card more representative of his real performance (which was a .219 average, not a .455 average!) I still think it was an interesting approach to carding lightly used players, if they have a past.

Didier caught for the 1969 Braves. Always preferred to use the Bob Tillman card at C instead.

Yeah, but my set came with the more lightly used (and less effective) '71 Braves card. I hadn't even realized he played for the Tigers; I expected a Duke Sims card. It was bad enough I didn't realize, after scrabbling together every last cent to make the purchase price of $8, I think, and choosing my 5 teams, that I wasn't getting the division winning 1972 Tigers, not the declining Tigers of 1973.

I kinda think they do both Steve, scale back AND redistribute in some unbalanced cases.

Anyone remember the 1978 Pepe Frias Card---all those Doubles and Triples---he was 4 for 15 with 2 Doubles and a Triple--the card was more like a .290-to .295 avg. instead of .267. .533 slugging with no homers--- something like 36 hit chances, 13 Triples and the rest Doubles.---I don't think Strat has been consistant over the years with low use cards being changed, though that card wouldn't have made it into online play.

I was amazed when I started playing online last year that low use players weren't limited use cards---especially for cards like 2013 Khris Davis--I think cards like his, and most all low use players should be in the unleashed set---I imagine it has been much worse in past online years.

Speaking of low use players---what about Zack Walters for 2014--is his card in the standard set??? should kill LHP.

Did I see a Bob Didier reference?

Unneeded and unrequested fact...he was a neighbor of mine in 69.

I was only 5 but he lived up the street and would throw the ball around on occasion with some of the older kids on the street.

A decade or so later another Brave moved into the hood....Craig McMurtry of Pete Rose fame. He was a very low profile guy. I think I saw 2-3 times in the 2 years he lived there. But I do remember the media crush surrounding the Rose effort. We had 2 TV crews on the street for 2 days!
