Also telling others that they can't read or comprehend what was previously written is very demeaning and doesn't encourage participation.

We all should be able to share knowledge and have an opinion in these forums. If others have a different opinion on a topic than you do then post your take on it but don't slam others for thinking something else. In most instances in baseball and in SOM there is no hard defined correct and incorrect answer so no one opinion is the final answer. Who was the best player Willie Mays or Hank Aaron? You could try and justify one over the other but there is no one correct answer. What team got the better end of a trade? You may have an educated opinion supported by very reasonable facts but that certainly doesn't mean that your opinion will turn out to be correct and any other opinion is necessarily wrong.

Just my 2¢

Nice write up on the horrible turn the forums have taken.

Well it looks like cards aren't out for another 2 weeks or so... I'll be back then to check in.

If anyone starting a decent theme league, PM me, at least I will get the email.

Geekor or Greasemonkey, can you PM me and instruct me how to make that happen. The FOE functionality doesn't work for me.

Not sure, I did it a while ago. I guess I could send you what I have, but then you have to add the user to Foes list first (which apparently you can't do).

I would search phpbb (the forums are built on this) block user script, or something like that to see of something different exists for you, since you can't add to foe.

Thanks Geekor, I actually did that!!! :-) I tried a "Delete Board Cookies" function, had to hack the URL to get to it for the board, but that also didn't clear up the problem.

Geekor just doesn't get it. Like other veteran posters, he's slammed people abusively so nothing has changed:
geekor wrote:who asked your opinion, and I can voice my opinion? Are you 12 or retarded? WE can ALL voice our opinions, Jerlins included. Some serious tough talk for someone who was never part of the community as a whole and his first post. I'm sure your e-penis is huge, you don't have to act so big. If only strat fixed their shit and had the manger ratings then we could see how terrible you really are.

And what Jerlins said was correct, which is why Strat re-ran the game right away. No ones lineups were set correctly, winning when everything was messed up and losing when they are fixed just shows.... you should fix your lineups to begin with.

That post was lovely. If Geekor or others want the Forum to change, they should probably look honestly at their and their friends' past posts. HIs saying the Forum has taken a "horrible turn" after his and many others' past horrible posts is unproductive delusion. We can make this a better forum. However, kidding ourselves things have gotten "worse" certainly won't help.

Wavy, do the scripts work in all browsers?

Unfortunately, the Greasmonkey add-on only works in Firefox.

Gotcha, really great scripts!, I only use Firefox anyway (except on iOS). Check your PMs, I have a quick question for you.

Yes I've managed to update a couple scripts. The site that hosted all of the old ones is no longer available, unfortunately.

That's too bad

Water seeks its own level and this thread is becoming a desert.

Can we please rise above sea level and bring it back to fun banter.

PLEASE I BEG OF YOU FOR THIS! I really don't want to leave this game but I really am growing tired of all the urine in the wind. Its not just 1 its many.

I am sad. I am sad for this game am I am sad that I will no longer be playing this game as it is becoming sad also.

I came close to quitting the game. I was feeling burned out. It was only after I figured out what was causing the burnout that I was able to start enjoying the game again. Sadly, some threads I abandon reading now, but fortunately the best part of the game is the game itself, not the forums.

By the way, if anyone decides to use the foe function, I highly recommend doing it 100 percent for the person who is bothering you. Reading one or two foe posts here and there will get you sucked back into that negativity. And once you get sucked in, you become part of the problem. It's like playing Global Thermonuclear War in the movie War Games: The only winning move is not to play. So, instead of a game of Global Thermonuclear War, how about a nice game of Strat-O-Matic Online Baseball?

Wait for it....here comes the lecture arguing the value of the penny in today's economy and why anyone that would still acknowledge pennies is dramatically less intelligent than he is.

Its difficult to imagine any item or idea that can be valued with the cents sign/symbol is worth being taken seriously.

Yes, and I still use that one!

I'm currently working on one that gives you info on the Sim Misc page by series. With the mystery games it's nice to know how the hitter/pitcher rolls played out per series.

Good job, and thanks! I still use Firefox, but it seems to work only now and then, and I have tinkered with various settings. I think the little (and pointless, in my opinion) transaction history at the bottom of the card messes it up for me.

Maybe a thread dedicated to these scripts should get started?
Even better if someone with the power were to sticky it.
